Basketball Game Preview: Magdalena Steers vs. Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls

The Magdalena Steers are taking a road trip to take on the Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Magdalena will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Wednesday, Magdalena made easy work of Alamo Navajo and carried off a 54-28 win. The Steers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 24 points or more this season.

Magdalena's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jorianne Mirabal led the charge by putting up 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, Mirabal is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jema Ganadonegro, who posted nine points along with seven steals and six assists.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove Classical Academy had to suffer through a 42-4 loss at the hands of Coronado. The game marked the Owls' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Magdalena pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Oak Grove Classical Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
