Football Recap: T.C. Roberson Starts Season with Win Against Huss

T.C. Roberson gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Huss Huskies 12-10.

T.C. Roberson can attribute much of their success to Mookah Simpson, who rushed for 133 yards while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Those 133 rushing yards gave Simpson a new career-high.

T.C. Roberson's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Tariq Sibert and Kydan Trimnal-Tucker, who racked up four sacks between them. Riddock Dinwiddie was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. T.C. Roberson is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Watauga at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Huss, they will head out to face off against Bessemer City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
