Basketball Game Preview: Brockway Rovers vs. Johnsonburg Rams

Brockway and Johnsonburg are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Brockway Rovers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Johnsonburg Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Brockway didn't have quite enough to beat Cameron County and fell 38-35. The Rovers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their defeat, Brockway saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sophia Schmader, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards, was perhaps the best of all. Schmader has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Morrison, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points.

Even though they lost, Brockway was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Johnsonburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Brookville an easy 52-28 victory.

Johnsonburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Brockway, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Brockway strolled past Johnsonburg in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 36-20. Does Brockway have another victory up their sleeve, or will Johnsonburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
