Softball Recap: Elkhorn South Falls Short Against Ranked Omaha Westside

Elkhorn South faced Omaha Westside in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Storm fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in September.

Ollie Songster was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Elkhorn South's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 20-12. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Omaha Westside, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Elkhorn South nor Omaha Westside have any future games scheduled.
