Soccer Game Preview: Petaluma vs. San Marin

The Petaluma Trojans will square off against the San Marin Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Petaluma will be strutting in after a victory while San Marin will be coming in after a loss.

Petaluma's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Justin-Siena. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Trojans were the better team in the second half.

Chloe Bulwa and Brianna Hlebakos scored both of Petaluma's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, San Marin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 6-0 to Branson. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while the Bulls are ranked 40th).

San Marin's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Petaluma, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3-2.

Everything went Petaluma's way against San Marin in their previous matchup back in December of 2017, as Petaluma made off with a 5-0 win. Does Petaluma have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Marin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
