Basketball Game Preview: Canyon Cowboys vs. West Ranch Wildcats

Canyon has gone 10-0 against West Ranch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Canyon Cowboys just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the West Ranch Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Canyon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season.

On Monday, Canyon took their game with ease, bagging a 76-49 victory over Verdugo Hills.

Shannen Wilson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. Those 28 points gave her a new career-high. Darby Dunn was another key player, going 8 for 13 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

Canyon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, West Ranch can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Castaic by a score of 36-24.

Canyon's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for West Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Everything came up roses for Canyon against West Ranch in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 71-21 win. In that matchup, Canyon amassed a halftime lead of 37-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
