Baseball Recap: Mt. Abraham Takes Down Ranked Middlebury

Mt. Abraham faced Middlebury in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-1. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Mt. Abraham gave Jackson Jennings the start and clearly made the right call: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Jennings has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Evan Corrigan was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025.

Mt. Abraham's record is now 10-1-1. As for Middlebury, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.

Coincidentally, Mt. Abraham and Middlebury will both be playing Missisquoi Valley the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Thunderbirds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
