Omaha Westside took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Millard West Wildcats, sneaking past 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Omaha Westside was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 21-25, 18-25, 25-14, 17-15.

Their offense was headlined by Madeline Lamb and Makenzie Wingett, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Kherington Snider and her 21 assists. Lamb and Wingett didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

When it comes to explaining why Millard West lost, don't look at Stella Neal. Despite the final result, she had 29 digs and one assist.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Omaha Westside beat Millard West by a score of 2-1 on Friday.
