Recap: Juniata Valley Hornets vs. Everett Warriors
The Juniata Valley Hornets struggled with assists on Monday (the Everett Warriors had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Juniata Valley lost to the Warriors at home by a decisive 57-43 margin. That's two games in a row now that Juniata Valley has lost by exactly 14 points.
Juniata Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Maddie Hopsicker, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Kassidy Watson who scored 16 points. Hopsicker has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played.
Everett's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cloe Price, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists. Price hasn't dropped below 16 points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Colledge, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Juniata Valley and nudges their season record down to 6-11. As for Everett, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juniata Valley will take on the Black Knights/Damsels at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Everett, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Northern Bedford County is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
