Football Game Preview: Questa Wildcats vs. Clayton Yellowjackets

Questa is 0-4 against Clayton since August of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will face off against the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Questa is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Menaul, who was ranked 15th at the time (Questa was ranked 18th). The Wildcats took a 40-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Clayton's offense. They were dealt a 50-0 loss at the hands of Escalante on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Yellowjackets have lost by exactly 50 points.

Questa's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Clayton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Questa was taken down by Clayton 56-6 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Isaac Quintana (who picked up 63 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
