Volleyball Recap: Gibbon Buffaloes vs. Ravenna Bluejays
Gibbon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ravenna Bluejays. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss last Saturday.
Brynn Baxter paced Gibbon's offense, picking up four kills. Baxter got some help from Claire Clark and her ten assists. Baxter was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Ravenna was led to victory by Ava Wroblewski and Breckyn Wick. Wroblewski had seven digs and two aces, while Wick had six kills and six digs. Wick is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last five games she's played. Ali Bock also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Gibbon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-24. As for Ravenna, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season.
Gibbon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Centura on the 20th. As for Ravenna, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Arcadia/Loup City on the 16th.
