Football Game Preview: Benson vs. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder

Benson will head out on the road to face off against the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Benson is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 36 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Browerville/Lafreniere HomeSchool on Friday. They fell just short of Browerville/Lafreniere HomeSchool by a score of 8-6. The game marked Benson's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against West Central Area, falling 44-16. On the bright side, the 16- point performance marked the Thunder's highest-scoring contest to date.

Benson now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Benson against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 40-0 victory. Does Benson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Long Prairie-Grey Eagle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
