Recap: High Point Baptist Academy Eagles vs. Coventry Christian
The High Point Baptist Academy Eagles waltzed into their match Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Coventry Christian 55-33. The result was nothing new for High Point Baptist Academy, who have now won three games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Despite the defeat, Coventry Christian saw an underclassman step up: Caitlin Cianci scored 25 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Cianci scored a full 75.8% of Coventry Christian's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Lasure, who scored six points.
High Point Baptist Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Coventry Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. High Point Baptist Academy will take on Lancaster County Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coventry Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Quakertown Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
