Baseball Game Preview: Bellaire Eagles vs. Pellston Hornets

The Bellaire Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Pellston Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bellaire is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

While Bellaire's victory against Johannesburg-Lewiston wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Cardinals 5-4.

Tucker Molski spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aidan Balko was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Luke Smith also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Pellston lost 19-1 to Hillman on Wednesday. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Pellston's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Bellaire, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

Bellaire got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Pellston by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
