Softball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Kennedy lost against Pueblo East back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Commanders took a 17-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Commanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Genesis Lujan led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Giana Valdez was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Pueblo East, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-8 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Kennedy by a score of 25-12 later that day.
