Soccer Recap: Rancho Mirage Comes Up Short

Rancho Mirage managed to keep up with La Quinta until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Rancho Mirage Rattlers came up short against the La Quinta Blackhawks, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Rattlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 735th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 321st).

Rancho Mirage is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4. As for La Quinta, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-0-2 and their overall record up to 7-1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rancho Mirage will square off against Shadow Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for La Quinta, they will face off against Xavier Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. La Quinta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.1 goals per game this season.
