Preview: Round Valley Mustangs vs. Potter Valley Bearcats
The Round Valley Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Potter Valley Bearcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Potter Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Round Valley, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Round Valley beat Anderson Valley 38-34.
Round Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Claudia Boggs led the charge by scoring ten points. Another player making a difference was Ayla Hinman, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Potter Valley, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They were beaten by Mendocino 54-21 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Potter Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1320th, while Mendocino is ranked 540th).
Round Valley now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Potter Valley, they have fallen quite a ways from their 12-4 record last season and are now at 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Round Valley against Potter Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 80-19 victory. Will Round Valley repeat their success, or does Potter Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
