Soccer Game Preview: Fairfax vs. Westchester

The Fairfax Lions will take on the Westchester Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Fairfax and five for Westchester.

Fairfax is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Hamilton on Monday. Fairfax fell just short of Hamilton by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Westchester's offense. They came up short against Hamilton on Wednesday, falling 17-0.

Fairfax's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-2. As for Westchester, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Fairfax was able to grind out a solid win over Westchester in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 4-2. Will Fairfax repeat their success, or does Westchester have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
