Soccer Recap: Cordova Comes Up Short

Cordova lost against West Park back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cordova Lancers came up short against the West Park Panthers, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 822nd, while the Panthers are ranked 144th).

Cordova has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for West Park, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1-1.

Cordova wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 5-0 defeat against McClatchy on the 23rd. As for West Park, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 7-0 victory against Grant on the 23rd.
