Basketball Recap: Wyoming Area Skates Past MMI Preparatory School with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Wyoming Area over MMI Preparatory School in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wyoming Area Warriors blew MMI Preparatory School out of the water with a 43-9 final score. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on three straight.

Leading Wyoming Area to victory were Abigail Sterba and Shannon Kearns. Sterba posted eight points and six steals, while Kearns scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals. Sterba is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addison Gaylord, who earned six points and four steals.

Wyoming Area smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Wyoming Area's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12. As for MMI Preparatory School, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Wyoming Area wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 43-17 loss against Lake-Lehman on the 27th. MMI Preparatory School has also already played their next game, a 47-11 defeat against Benton on the 25th.
