Softball Recap: Mitchell Marauders vs. Alameda Pirates
Mitchell extended their losing streak to ten on Saturday, dropping them down to 3-14. They came up short against the Alameda Pirates, falling 19-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-13 on Saturday.
Jordyn Roberts made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those home runs were her first of the season. Natalie Gaytan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
As for Alameda, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9. Considering they have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
On Alameda's side, the team relied heavily on Annalia Lucero, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Lucero a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zila Bobian, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
As of now, neither Mitchell nor Alameda have any future games scheduled.
