Basketball Game Preview: Vista Panthers vs. El Camino Wildcats

Vista and El Camino are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Vista Panthers face off against the El Camino Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Vista came up short against Mt. Carmel and fell 66-55. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Sundevils: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the defeat, Vista got top-tier performance from Isabella Mosley, who posted 29 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Those 29 points gave Mosley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Lowe, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points and three blocks.

Meanwhile, El Camino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 42-34 to Oceanside.

Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for El Camino, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Vista strolled past El Camino in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 57-43. Will Vista repeat their success, or does El Camino have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
