Recap: Chico Panthers vs. Foothill Cougars
The Chico Panthers entered their tilt with the Foothill Cougars with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Chico walked away with a 70-62 win over Foothill on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Taylee Clements was her usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayen Letner, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Foothill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lexi Peters. Despite the final result, she scored 34 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Peters has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Kalea Thomas was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Chico pushed their record up to 19-7 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points per game. As for Foothill, their loss dropped their record down to 17-8.
Chico does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Foothill also has no future games currently scheduled.
