Recap: McGuffey Highlanders vs. South Park Eagles
If the McGuffey Highlanders were feeling good off their 60-19 takedown of the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. McGuffey received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 48-32 to South Park. McGuffey was down 45-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
When it comes to explaining why McGuffey lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taylor Schumacher. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Schumacher is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played.
McGuffey's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for South Park, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-6.
McGuffey will take on Waynesburg Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Waynesburg Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for South Park, they will head out on the road to take on Brownsville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
