Softball Game Preview: Hannibal Pirates vs. Palmyra Panthers

The Hannibal Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Palmyra Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Hannibal and ten for Palmyra.

Hannibal lost 13-3 to Mexico on Wednesday.

Hannibal saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kynlee Ross, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Carlee McCoy also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Thursday. Palmyra came up short against Centralia, falling 16-1.

Hannibal's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Palmyra, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Hannibal beat Palmyra 8-3 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
