Baseball Recap: Grafton Bearcats vs. Preston Knights
Grafton couldn't beat Preston on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Bearcats fell just short of the Knights by a score of 11-10. The Bearcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 5-2.
Greyson Ramezan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Moats, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Grafton and nudges their season record down to 22-9. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 10-21 University and 9-17 Preston. As for Preston, they moved to 9-17 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Coming up, Grafton will take on Fairmont Senior at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Preston, they will square off against University at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
