Basketball Recap: Mission Bay Takes a Loss

Mission Bay extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-2. They took a blow against the Santana Sultans, falling 55-18. The Buccaneers lost against the Sultans in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 35-26 score last time.

As for Santana, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 50.5 points this season.

Santana found their leader in sophomore Sam Mora, who posted 25 points. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Darrow, who had ten points.

Looking ahead, Mission Bay will face off against Holtville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santana, they will take on Orange Glen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
