Softball Recap: Northglenn Takes a Loss

Northglenn scored first but ultimately less than Riverdale Ridge in their contest on Saturday. They lost 14-4 to the Ravens. The Norsemen haven't had much luck with the Ravens recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Jocelyn Evans was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and 12 unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Evans wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kloe Barela, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Northglenn's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Riverdale Ridge, their record now sits at 13-6.

Looking ahead, Northglenn will head out on the road to square off against Fairview at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Norsemen will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Riverdale Ridge, they will be playing at home against Brighton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Ravens surely won't give up without a fight.
