Baseball Game Preview: Morrison Mustangs vs. Mendota Trojans

The Morrison Mustangs will head out to face off against the Mendota Trojans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Morrison is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Morrison is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since March 27, 2025 on Thursday. They fell just short of Milledgeville by a score of 9-7.

Morrison saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Koltin Swaim, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Swaim has become a key player for the Mustangs: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Another was Collin Renkes, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Mendota's offense. They fell 3-0 to Putnam County on Friday.

Morrison's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 11-9. As for Mendota, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
