Basketball Recap: Rancho Verde Takes a Loss

Rancho Verde was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Aquinas Falcons, falling 46-25. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Jordyn Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Aquinas, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last ten times she's played. Leah Curtis was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Rancho Verde's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Aquinas, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Rancho Verde will head out on the road to face off against Redlands East Valley at 3:00 p.m. on December 1. As for Aquinas, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on San Jacinto Valley Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
