Basketball Recap: Benicia Comes Up Short

Benicia lost against Northgate back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Benicia Panthers received a blow as they fell 49-34 to the Northgate Broncos. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

It was another big night for Samantha Myhr, who posted 17 points and seven rebounds for Northgate. Another player making a difference was Maddison Sardelich, who earned seven points and 19 rebounds.

Benicia's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Northgate, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Benicia and Northgate should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Benicia (ranked 187th) will meet College Park (ranked 774th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Northgate (ranked 160th) will meet Concord (ranked 622nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
