Basketball Recap: Fremont Takes a Loss

Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt an 87-7 defeat at the hands of the Oakland Tech Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1070th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 78th).

Oakland Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Payton Henderson led the charge by putting up 16 points. Xanaii Williams was another key player, scoring 16 points.

Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Oakland Tech, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

Fremont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against Hayward on the 13th. Oakland Tech has also already played their next contest, a 66-17 victory against Skyline on the 15th.
