Volleyball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Columbus managed to slip by Lincoln North Star the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Discoverers lost 3-0 to the Navigators on Thursday. The Discoverers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Navigators apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-18, 25-15.

Paighton Erb paced Columbus' offense, picking up 16 kills. Erb got some help from Carley Kapels and her 12 assists.

Columbus has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Lincoln North Star, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Columbus will square off against rival Omaha Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lincoln North Star is set to challenge their familiar foe Papillion-LaVista South at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
