Baseball Recap: Washington-Wilkes Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Franklin County, Washington-Wilkes was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Elbert County Blue Devils by a score of 9-5. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Blue Devils on their field since February 14, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Ben Price, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Ty Lamar was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

The victory got Washington-Wilkes back to even at 1-1. As for Elbert County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington-Wilkes will square off against Franklin County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Elbert County, they will challenge Lincoln County at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday.
