Baseball Recap: Riverside Military Academy Comes Up Short

Riverside Military Academy had lost 14 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-19 to make it 15. They came up short against the Tallulah Falls Indians, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Indians this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-0 loss on Wednesday.

As for Tallulah Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season. The result was nothing new for Tallulah Falls, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Tallulah Falls' part, Cole Bonitatibus looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bonitatibus has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ashton Roache, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside Military Academy will take on Bethlehem Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tallulah Falls, they will square off against West-Oak at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
