Baseball Recap: Deerfield-Windsor Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Deerfield-Windsor can now relate to. They fell just short of the Brookwood Warriors by a score of 10-8 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent loss being a 9-6 defeat on Friday.

Gabe Daniel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Boyd Pollock, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Deerfield-Windsor has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10-1 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Brookwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-18.

Deerfield-Windsor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brookwood, they have already played their next game, a 7-5 defeat against John Milledge Academy on the 15th.
