Soccer Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greenon Knights. Springfield fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Greenon since Saturday.

Judah Perry and Connor Shay scored both of Springfield's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Greenon, their win bumped their record up to 5-2-1.

Springfield has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Wayne on the 23rd. As for Greenon, they are taking a road trip to square off against Graham Local at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
