MaxPreps 2011-12 California Girls Basketball All-State Teams

Nirra Fields of Mater Dei has earned MaxPreps' recognition as the top female player in the state this season.

State champions collected all but one of the divisional MVP awards on the California all-state girls basketball teams released by MaxPreps today.

Hannah Huffman of Carondelet, selected as the top player in the East Bay by the San Francisco Chronicle, is the Division II MVP, edging out Kelli Hayes of state champion Archbishop Mitty.

The other four MVPs, including the overall MVP, are all state champions. Nirra Fields of Mater Dei is the Division I and overall MVP, Kendall Waters of Bishop O'Dowd is the Division III MVP, Kelsey Plum of La Jolla Country Day is the Division IV MVP and Tiara Tucker of Brookside Christian is the Division V MVP.

Following are the overall first, second and third teams, along with 15 honorable mention picks, as well as the first and second team for all five divisions. Selections were made by the MaxPreps staff.
