Soccer Game Preview: Menlo-Atherton vs. Burlingame

The Menlo-Atherton Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Burlingame Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Menlo-Atherton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Menlo-Atherton narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Aragon 3-2. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Burlingame kept a clean sheet against Sequoia on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Ravens. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Panthers were the better team in the second half.

Menlo-Atherton is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five matches. As for Burlingame, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-5-3.

Menlo-Atherton came up short against Burlingame in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 4-2. Can Menlo-Atherton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
