Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Western Christian walked away with it. They secured a 53-47 W over the Victor Valley Jackrabbits on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Fighting Lancers, who have now won six contests in a row.

Leading Western Christian to victory were Cora Burdett and Cece Balderrama. Burdett en route to 17 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Balderrama dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points Balderrama has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Yamamoto, who put up seven points and three steals.

Western Christian pushed their record up to 16-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points over those games. As for Victor Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

Western Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 32-28 loss against Rancho Alamitos on the 15th. Victor Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
