Basketball Recap: Farmersville Aztecs vs. Lindsay Cardinals
After flying high against Granite Hills last Friday, Farmersville came back down to earth. The Farmersville Aztecs lost to the Lindsay Cardinals on the road by a 50-35 margin on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Aztecs of the 51-48 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Janessa Garza and Leila Juarez certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Garza dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Juarez dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Garza is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Khloe Silva, who posted five points and eight boards.
Lindsay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Melanie Navarro, who had 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. Sophia Navarro was another key player, putting up 15 points and five steals.
Farmersville dropped their record down to 6-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lindsay, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.
