Basketball Game Preview: Gar-Field Red Wolves vs. Freedom Eagles + How To Watch

Gar-Field is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will look to defend their home court against the Freedom Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Gar-Field knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Freedom likes a good challenge.

Gar-Field not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 4th (when they won 85-33). They blew past James Monroe 68-31. With the Red Wolves ahead 45-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Gar-Field's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Murrell, who posted ten points and four steals. With that strong performance, Murrell is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Keon Jackson, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 12 points and five rebounds.

Gar-Field smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Freedom was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 74-68 to Charles J. Colgan. The Eagles have struggled against the Sharks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Gar-Field's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Freedom, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything came up roses for Gar-Field against Freedom when the teams last played back in February, as the squad secured an 85-33 win. Do the Red Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
