Football Recap: Blue Valley Southwest Comes Up Short

Blue Valley Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-27 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Miege Stags. The Timberwolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stags apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Thomas, who picked up 180 receiving yards and three scores. Thomas showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 55 yards. Another passer making a difference was Max Orrick, who threw for 296 yards and four touchdowns.

Blue Valley Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bishop Miege, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
