Soccer Game Preview: Berkeley vs. Bishop O'Dowd

The Berkeley Yellowjackets will head out on the road to challenge the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Berkeley's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They had just enough and edged Alameda out 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Yellowjackets were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Mia Sieminski, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Bishop O'Dowd put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. Everything went their way against Piedmont as Bishop O'Dowd made off with a 9-0 win. The Dragons' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six contests.

Bishop O'Dowd pushed their record up to 10-0-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those three games. As for Berkeley, their win bumped their record up to 4-6-4.

Berkeley beat Bishop O'Dowd by a goal in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berkeley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
