Piedmont barely beat Head-Royce the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Highlanders' defense stepped up to hand the Jayhawks a 4-0 shutout on Friday. Piedmont's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

They hit Head-Royce with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Makenna Small, Ayla Blanford, Miranda Liu, and Elia Kwong.

Piedmont now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Head-Royce, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Piedmont and Head-Royce will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Highlanders see the pitch they'll take on Berkeley at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2026. As for Head-Royce, their break will end when they face Athenian at 3:15 p.m. on January 7, 2026.
