Union Grove fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Jones County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 8-7. The Wolverines' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Jada Jackson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Mote, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Union Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Jones County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union Grove will take on Woodland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jones County, they will face off against Jackson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
