It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but West Laurens ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past the Wayne County Yellow Jackets 7-6. The victory was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won four games in a row.

West Laurens' win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Wayne County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

West Laurens and Wayne County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Raiders will challenge Baldwin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (24 vs. 367). Meanwhile, Wayne County (ranked 35th) will meet Pinewood Christian (ranked 219th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
