Baseball Recap: Jersey Comes Up Short

Jersey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Civic Memorial Eagles. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 10-7.

Jersey's record is now 19-13. As for Civic Memorial, they now have a winning record of 17-16.

Coming up, Jersey will challenge Granite City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Civic Memorial, they will face off against Effingham at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Flaming Hearts' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
