Elkhorn had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Waterford Wolverines get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The one-run effort marked the Elks' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Carson Lysaght's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ethan Woller was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Elkhorn's record is now 13-6. As for Waterford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Elkhorn and Waterford will both be playing St. Joseph the next time they take the field. The Elks will host the Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wolverines will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
