Basketball Recap: Canon-Mcmillan Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Baldwin

On Thursday, Canon-McMillan faced Baldwin in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Canon-McMillan Big Macs fell to the Baldwin Highlanders 55-49. If the Big Macs were looking for revenge after losing 52-48 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Canon-McMillan lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lauren Borella, who posted 13 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Borella has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Samantha Miller, who had 15 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Canon-McMillan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Baldwin, the win also got them back to even at 3-3.

Canon-McMillan will take on North Hills in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canon-McMillan is facing North Hills at the right time seeing as North Hills is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Baldwin, they will head out to take on Peters Township at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Peters Township will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Baldwin surely won't give up without a fight.
